NBA PlAYOFF UPDATE -LAKERS LOSE SUNDAY.

By Melvin Tamba & Tyrell Howard

On Friday the Lakers were beautiful. They won by 30 points. The ecstatic block by Jordan Farmar was something to see, Eme Udoka didn’t know what hit him. Now the Lakers were up 2 – 0.

Then came the game in San Antonio Sunday night. The Sunday game was a blowout. With the Spurs winning big, 103 -84 the Spurs finally came alive and  took a victory. Manu Ginoboli was on fire, he was 5 for 7 from the 3 point line. He scored 30 points just 10 away from his career high ( 40 points).Tim Duncan had 18 rebounds, 20 points and Tony Parker contributed 22 points to the Spurs win.

Lakers fans are very disappointed. We are Lakers’ Fans

On another coast in Boston, The Pistons were the first team all year to beat the Celtics in a Playoffs on Celtics hometown turf.

Celtic  had an unbelievable win the Celtics finally go on the road and win a game against the Pistons Saturday night.

Lakers play the Spurs tonight, I think the Lakers will win.

Last Night In L.A.

By Melvin Tamba & Tyrell Howard

Lakers come up with an 89 -85 win. They had the luck of the Irish last night in L.A.. In the 3rd Quarter they were down 65 -45 and the came back with a 20 -7 run at the end of the third.

Kobe Bryant had 27 points and 9 assists.

TIm Duncan and Kobe Last Night at the Dance in L.A.

The Spurs held a 72-65 lead at the end of the third quarter, but the Lakers, and Kobe had gained the momentum and the crowd was back into the game.

It ended up Lakers had won even though they had a terrible start. Phil Jackson did a good job switching up the lineups to pull out the win. We told you we needed a good bench, and the Laker’s bench was just good enough to pull it off.

Looks like Phil Jackson is working on his 10th Championship ring.

Next Game is in L.A Friday Night!

GOOD BYE HORNETS:KOBE DESTROYS THE SPURS!

BY MELVIN TAMBA & TYRELL HOWARD

Thank you to Byron Scott for bringing the Hornets so far, and winning coach of the year. Chris Paul and David West had a great season despite a terrible back injury David West suffered in game 6. David West said the hit he suffered at the hands of Robert Horry was an intentional foul, and we agree.

Unfortunately the Hornets did not make it to the semi-finals. But for discouraged Hornet’s fans have hope because the Lakers are going to beat the Evil Spurs in the semi-finals and then go on to beat the Celtics/Pistons and Kobe will have his 4th Championship Ring.

The Spurs did rather well last night but the Lakers big 3 Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, and of course the best but not least, Kobe will wash them clean.

Our prediction 4-3 series victory for the Lakers and the big 3.

For the Lakers to win their bench has to be excellent. Stay tuned for more sports info. Look forward to some great articles on the Mets and Yankees!

New Article By Justin Braddox on the Earthquake in China

A really powerful Earthquake hit several small cities  and towns in South West China last week. The Quake killed nearly 15000 people and another 10,000 are injured. This Earthquake caused a lot of damage.  The Earthquake was a  7.9 which is a very powerful earthquake.

It is the worst Earthquake to hit China in 30 years.  The tremor knocked over hundreds of houses and caused landslides. that blocked roads.  They have no power or clean water or telephone service now.  This is a truly terrible Earthquake and the Chinese are suffering as we speak.

CP3 / Chris Paul My Hero

By Melvin Tamba

My hero is CP3 because he brought the New Orleans Hornets to the playoffs and defeated Dallas 4-1 in the first round of the the Playoffs. They knocked off Dallas and as a result they fired their Coach Avery Johnson.

Now in the second round they are facing the World Champs the San Atonio Spurs. Some people like CP3 point-guard for the Hornets, they think he does not have the potential to lead his team to the Championship.

Some people like me, like him beacause he is young and know’s the game, and plays the game great. I think he is a strong, just watch him make the jump shots at the crucial time, when the game is on the line. Just like in the game against the Golden State Warriors, he hit a 3 point and they won the game.

He loves to drive to the basket, but sometimes Tony Parker, makes him a jump shooter and that is his weakness.

I think my favorite team the Hornets will beat the spurs, because of Chris Paul and David West. Just 3 nights ago David west had a (career high) 38 points.

Should be a great playoff matchup.

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY: MAY 14TH 1804

ROUTE OF THE CORPS OF DISCOVERY

WHEN I GET UP IN THE MORNING FIRST THING I DO IS READ THE NEWS AND THE DAY IN HISTORY ON MY LAPTOP. EVERY MORNING. TODAY I WAS READING ABOUT THE DEVASTATING EARTH QUAKE IN CHINA AND OTHER PIECES OF NEWS AND THEN I SWITCH TO THE DAY IN HISTORY BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE HISTORY CHANNEL. SO JUST WHAT HAPPENED TODAY IN THE PAST THAT IS IMPORTANT AND PART OF OUR HISTORY. WELL THE MAIN STORY IS THAT 204 YEARS AGO LEWIS AND CLARK DEPARTED ON THE CORPS OF DISCOVERY ON THIS VERY DAY MAY 14. SO FOR MISS APONTE’S CLASS WHO IS CREATING A MOVIE ON THIS SACAJAWEA  HERE IS THE ARTICLE.

May 14: General Interest 1804 : Lewis and Clark depart One year after the United States doubled its territory with the Louisiana Purchase, the Lewis and Clark expedition leaves St. Louis, Missouri, on a mission to explore the Northwest from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean. Even before the U.S. government concluded purchase negotiations with France, President Thomas Jefferson commissioned his private secretary Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, an army captain, to lead an expedition into what is now the U.S. Northwest. On May 14, the “Corps of Discovery”–featuring approximately 45 men (although only an approximate 33 men would make the full journey)–left St. Louis for the American interior. The expedition traveled up the Missouri River in a 55-foot long keelboat and two smaller boats. In November, Toussaint Charbonneau, a French-Canadian fur trader accompanied by his young Native American wife Sacagawea, joined the expedition as an interpreter. The group wintered in present-day North Dakota before crossing into present-day Montana, where they first saw the Rocky Mountains. On the other side of the Continental Divide, they were met by Sacagawea’s tribe, the Shoshone Indians, who sold them horses for their journey down through the Bitterroot Mountains. After passing through the dangerous rapids of the Clearwater and Snake rivers in canoes, the explorers reached the calm of the Columbia River, which led them to the sea. On November 8, 1805, the expedition arrived at the Pacific Ocean, the first European explorers to do so by an overland route from the east. After pausing there for the winter, the explorers began their long journey back to St. Louis. On September 23, 1806, after almost two and a half years, the expedition returned to the city, bringing back a wealth of information about the largely unexplored region, as well as valuable U.S. claims to Oregon Territory.
