Keynote Tutorial

  Here is a Keynote tutorial lets take a brief walk through this presentation software and learn how to use it. Learning target:s Students will be able to gather resources, design slides with text and pictures to create a presentation. Skills you need: Create and name a desktop folder Save images to the folder from Google Images Put text into slideshow.    

Scratch Jr. More Skills and Review.

 Last week we measured how long the stage was in terms of steps. This week let us use that knowledge to finish this task .

Can I Make My Car Drive Across the City?

1. Choose Background

Drag the car to the bottom corner of the screen

Here is a review of terms that are in the Kahoot.

  1. Programmer: A person that writes the code (language) that tells the computer what to do.
  2. Code: is a computer language that programmers use and create to tell computers what to do.Computers understand Code
  3. Sequence:.  refers to the orders something is done in as in first, second third and so on. Also known as order of events, a computer will execute commands exactly in the order or sequence they are written. As a programmer, it is important to make sure that the commands given to a computer are in the right sequence, otherwise, a program might not run as expected.
  4. Algorithm a set of steps in order to solve a problem.

Coding Vocabulary and Meaning.

Vocabulary

Meet Scratch

If you wan to make computer games Scratch is a great place to start. A game is a set of detailed instructions or Program followed by the computer. Scratch uses ready-made  blocks that make building programs easy.

In a typical Scratch project such as a game programs called Scripts control characters and objects known as Sprites. The Sprites appear in a part of the Scratch screen called the stage.

 

Sprites are things that can move around and react in a game. They can be animals and people, or even cakes and spaceships1 You build scripts to bring sprites to life. 

Scripts are made of colored blocks that you drag with a computer mouse and put together like a puzzle. Each block contains one instruction. Scratch reads through the script for the top to the bottom.
